Description
The project aims to create positive change in Europe by increasing social inclusion and the active participation of young people. It seeks to foster a spirit of solidarity through volunteering activities at the local level. The long-term goal is to promote social inclusion and active citizenship among young people, while in the short term, it focuses on broadening the knowledge and skills of young volunteers in areas such as early childhood education, immigration, and social inclusion. The project also targets young people who are at risk of exclusion due to social, cultural, and economic factors, as well as those facing discrimination, stereotypes, and racism.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The project provides free accommodation for volunteers, with comfortable living spaces close to project activities. Volunteers will share accommodations with other European volunteers or local young people, fostering socialization and language learning. They will receive a monthly food allowance, encouraging money management and entrepreneurial skills. The organization covers necessary public transportation costs, and volunteers will also receive pocket money for their personal expenses.
Training during the activity
Mozaik ensures that volunteers receive language support, either online or through funding for in-person classes if needed. These classes, up to 35 hours, are group-based and focus on helping volunteers integrate into the local community and their projects. Since the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is not primarily a language course, the support is designed for beginners. However, for those who already know Turkish, advanced language assistance will be provided to further develop their skills.
Participant profile
The target group for this volunteer project consists of young people aged 18 to 30, particularly NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), and those facing social exclusion or working with disadvantaged groups. The selection criteria emphasize a strong motivation to work in challenging socio-cultural and economic contexts, including immigration and social inclusion. Desired traits include openness to dialogue, mental balance, adaptability, autonomy, and a willingness to collaborate. Selection will be impartial and transparent, based on motivation rather than specific qualifications or language proficiency. Special consideration is given to participants with fewer opportunities, including those facing social, economic, educational, or cultural challenges.
